The roast study graph at left refers to 1 lb. roasting to Full City Plus roast in about 14 minutes.  Lighter roasts will take about 10-12.
When roasting aggressively it's important to use the exhaust blower continuously towards the end of the roast to keep the roast cabinet free of smoke.  Model A versions have a manual exhaust inline control valve for controlling exhaust and coffee roaster ventilation.
The graph at left and directions below should only be considered a rough guide, as the bean type, ambient temperature and even the humidity can affect the outcome of any give roast cycle.

1 lb. AGGRESSIVE  ROAST

1.

Arrow indicates approximate 1st Crack and where smoke begins to emanate from roaster.

2.

Turn the exhaust blower on at 1st Crack and monitor digital drum probe temperature display to make certain that the temperature does not exceed 445 degrees F.

3.

Within 1 or 2 minutes later when the smoke begins to flow heavily from the roaster, use the manual switch and run the exhaust blower continuously.

4.

Turn off the Halogen before opening the door and dumping the drum.  Remove temperature probe on left side of coffee roaster before removing coffee roaster drum.  It's okay to remove drum while it is rotating.
